Ingredients

½ cup sugar

1 Tbl cornstarch

½ cup water

¼ cup vinegar

1 Tbl butter

½ tsp salt

3 cups cooked sliced beets

 

Directions

Mix sugar and cornstarch, gradually add water and vinegar. Cook gently until thick and clear, about 10 minutes. Stir in butter and salt. Add beets. Heat through and serve.

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh beet, peeled and shredded
  • 2 med carrots, peeled and shredded
  • 1/4 cup crushed pineapple
  • a few Tbl of walnut pieces
  • 1/2 Tbl of fresh ginger, minced
  • white wine vinegar
  • salt
  • sugar
  • olive oil
  • lemon juice
  • All to taste.

Instructions

Combine ingredients, tweaking amounts to your liking. Serve chilled or room temperature.
