½ cup sugar

1 Tbl cornstarch

½ cup water

¼ cup vinegar

1 Tbl butter

½ tsp salt

3 cups cooked sliced beets



Mix sugar and cornstarch, gradually add water and vinegar. Cook gently until thick and clear, about 10 minutes. Stir in butter and salt. Add beets. Heat through and serve.
