This sangria is so delicious, it became Emily and Jeff’s signature cocktail at their wedding in October 2012.
Ingredients
4 ounces brandy
6 ounces Monin White Sangria Mix*
1 bottle Pinot Grigio
Slices of oranges, lemons, and limes
Fancy ice (in a bag)
Directions
Fill a pitcher with ice. Add all ingredients and stir. Pour into ice-filled glasses and garnish with fresh citrus slices. Serves four (or one in Stephanie’s case).
*If you cannot find the Monin mix, make a simple syrup with equal parts sugar and water, and add a couple cinnamon sticks for flavor.
To make this Perfect White Sangria by the glass: fill wine glass with fancy ice, add 1 T. brandy, 2 T. Monin White Sangria syrup (or make your own syrup), fill glass with Pinot Grigio. Stir well. Garnish with a slice of orange.
Are you in the mood for red sangria instead? Just substitute the pinot grigio with an inexpensive red wine you have on hand. I find the syrup needs to be adjusted slightly, depending on the wine you use.
By the way, you can order any of the Monin syrups from http://www.monin.com – based on my experience, it will arrive promptly, well packed and is not expensive. It lasts in the pantry for a good while. (I get nervous when I am down to my last bottle.) Monin’s Red Sangria syrup is pretty good, too, though White is my personal favorite. Just saying.
